(ง •̀_•́)ง Ming and Her Code

My coding journey

(。・∀・)ノ in chronological order. Here are the questions I asked myself in each stage of my journey.

  1. As a Code Newbie: What makes a good developer?

TL;DR: I built up my hard skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Git, GitHub and more) and soft skills (explaining my work to tech and non-technical people, seeing the "building blocks" in projects, work in a team) all through free online resources I found. In the end, I applied what I learned and built this blog.

  2. As a Student: Good GPA, but what else?

TL;DR: On top of school and self-learning, I worked as a tutor and cashier to improve my communication skills. I maintained a 3.9 GPA and received an internship offer.

  3. As an Intern: Why should we keep you?

TL;DR: I tried to save people's time and provide value that stays even after the internship ended. For example, asking well-defined questions, adjusting the way to communicate for better efficiency working from home, leaving documentation for all my works, and sharing issues I faced with other interns. I learned things quickly using the learning technique I developed. At the end of my internship, I received a returning offer.
